Albino Boa

Latin Name:

Boa constrictor imperator

Morph:

Albino (Original Strain)

Genetic:

recessive

Info:

Peter Kahl was the first one who breed albino boas successful. Hence comes the name "Peter Kahl Strain" or "Original Strain".

In 1991 an albino female was found in Colombia and has been bought by the breeder Brian Sharp (Sharp Strain). This animal had a higher red allotment unlike the Original Strain. Later it became clear that these two albino lines got different genetic causes, so if you cross-breed these two lines no albino will be produced. The Peter Kahl Strain is the more often kept and breed line, so my own animals also originate from this line. Albino boas are, in combination to other mutations, the key to many other designer boas.
